The Ministry of Construction held a coordination meeting for implementing Public Rental Housing Project with 10,000 units via videoconferencing yesterday afternoon.

The meeting was attended by Union Minister U Han Zaw, Deputy Minister Dr Kyaw Linn, the Permanent Secretary, the Director-General and officials of Urban and Housing Development Department, Nay Pyi Taw Council member U Tin Tun, Yangon Region Industry and Transport Minister Daw Nilar Kyaw, Mandalay Region Electricity, Energy and Construction Minister U Zarni Aung and chairpersons of three private entrepreneurs associations.

During the meeting, Union Minister U Han Zaw discussed about the terms and conditions of the contracts for 10,000 units of the public rental housing project, budget status, stake driving ceremony for the projects, bringing benefits and creating job opportunities for the public while implementing the project and high-quality housing projects.

Deputy Minister Dr Kyaw Linn later explained that the meeting was held to approve the contracts to start the projects and the contracts are already given to the relevant organizations and he called on the attendees to give comments and suggestions.

He also discussed budget allocation in line with the rules of the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Industry, complying with health guidelines set by National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19 and the Ministry of Health and Sports and cooperation works to implement the projects as quickly as possible.

Then, the attendees to the meeting coordinated the discussion and Deputy Minister delivered a closing speech.
