UNION Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win participated yesterday in the Gavi SEARO WPRO Constituency Meeting presided over by Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin.

Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin and Chief Country Delivery Officer Mr Thabani Maphosa of Gavi first made opening speeches, and officials from the Gavi reported on the five-year immunization (2026-2030) strategic plan to the health ministers.

Speaking at the event, the Union minister expressed willingness to join the five-year immunization (2026-2030) strategic plan of Gavi actively and highlighted 13 types of vaccines for children in the country, eight projects provided by the State budget and six by Gavi, 88 per cent coverage of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine on girls aged 9 to 10, budget expenditure for national immunization projects and continuous support of Gavi.

Health Ministers and vice-ministers from Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Cambodia then coordinated the discussion.
