Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win, who is in the capacity of Patron of the Leading Committee for Organizing the 25th (Silver Jubilee) Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions 2024 yesterday afternoon, inspected preparations to hold the competition successfully.

He viewed round preparations for holding the competition and exercising rehearsal processes for the opening ceremony of the competition at the openair theatre of Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee and Myanmar International Convention Centre-II. Officials reported on their respective sectors. The Vice-Senior General attended to their needs and cordially greeted members of the traditional orchestra troupe of the national races.

The Vice-Senior General looked into preparations for hostels, mess halls, kitchens, food stalls and personal goods shops to ensure foodstuff supplies and accommodation convenience of maestros who will serve members of the panel of judges, contending troupes from regions and states, administrative groups and parents at the competition, the practice of cultural troupes, work process of subcommittees, and grouping of health and medical teams. He coordinated all measures and warmly greeted the maestros and contestants.

The singing contest comprises categories of classic songs, modern songs and songs to uplift national prestige. The dancing contest includes traditional musical instruments of national races, traditional rural dances, Chin traditional dances, and marionettes, with the music-playing contest consisting of piano, guitar, Donmin, and mandolin, which will take place at MICC II in Nay Pyi Taw.

Likewise, the song-composing contest and the marionette contest will be held at Yinkyayhmu Yadana Hall of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture.

At the same time, the music-playing contest for Dobat, Ozi and violin and narration contest will be accommodated at the training theatre of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, the troupe-wise orchestra and solo orchestra contests will take positions at the National Library, the harp, oboe, flute and xylophone contests at the National Museum, and the religious drama contest at the open-air theatre of Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee. The competitions will last from 14 to 20 October, and more than 2,500 contestants from various regions and states will participate.

The 25th Performing Arts Competitions will be organized in accord with four objectives: to uplift national prestige and integrity and to preserve the cultural heritage and national characteristics; to explore, preserve and uplift the traditional cultural heritage of performing arts of ethnic nationals and national cultural characteristics; to explore and preserve the traditional cultural heritage for the young generation and further propagate the national spirit; and to serve as a national cultural entity for State development, peace, and stability.
