THE media outlet Mizzima News in Burmese falsely reported that former Yangon Region social affairs minister U Naing Ngan Lin had suffered a leg fracture and was receiving medical treatment in prison.

However, investigations revealed that U Naing Ngan Lin is in good health and has been appropriately cared for by prison officials and staff since his arrival. The claims that he slipped in prison, fractured his leg, and had a steel rod inserted were entirely untrue.

As a result, the report published on the Mizzima Media Facebook page is both incorrect and misleading, aiming to create misunderstanding about the prison’s standard procedures and operations.
