MYANMAR hosted the 18th Meeting of the ASEAN Tourism Competitiveness Committee (ATCC), 32nd Meeting of the ASEAN Tourism Professional Monitoring Committee (ATPMC), 18th Meeting of the ASEAN Sustainable and Inclusive Tourism Development Committee (ASITDC), 18th Meeting of the ASEAN Tourism Resourcing, Monitoring, and Evaluation Committee (ATRMEC) at Sedona Hotel in Yangon from 9 to 11 October.
At the opening ceremony for the meetings, Union Minister Dr Thet Thet Khine said Myanmar is working with regional countries, including ASEAN members, to increase tourist arrivals to the country and develop the tourism industry. She also mentioned that the tourism industry is a focal sector in strengthen ing cooperation among ASEAN countries and cultural exchange.
They will discuss measures to promote human resources and skill standardization, and mutual recognition to develop the tourism industry in ASEAN countries, she added.
Senior officials from the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism, team leaders and representatives of ASEAN countries, the ASEAN Secretary-General Office, Myanmar Federation of Tourism and Brothers Association attended the ceremony.
Myanmar served as vicechair of the 18th Meeting of the ASEAN Sustainable and Inclusive Tourism Development Committee (ASITDC).
The Union minister hosted a dinner event for attendees of the ASEAN tourism committee meetings.
