UNION Minister for Labour U Myint Naung met Mr Daihei Mochizuki, Chief of the Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Myanmar, and his delegation at the Ministry of Labour in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.

The Union minister expressed gratitude for IOM’s ongoing support in ensuring the safety and security of Myanmar migrant workers employed in various countries. He highlighted the assistance provided by IOM in offering social protection and humanitarian support to these migrant workers. The Union minister also discussed plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry and IOM to further collaborate on labour-related matters.

Both sides held open discussions on managing international labour migration, emphasizing the need for continued cooperation between the Ministry of Labour and IOM.
