MALICIOUS media outlets are spreading fake news claiming that individuals who were not registered as guests were arrested during the 2024 Nationwide Census Collection in the wards of Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region.

According to an official involved in the process, enumerators are diligently collecting data in accordance with the prescribed guidelines and verifying any inconsistencies. There have been no instances of arrests solely for non-compliance.

The census is considered a national duty, and the public cooperates well with the data collection.

Therefore, these subversive media outlets are deliberately circulating false information in an attempt to undermine the census.
