IN a tragic incident yesterday, three innocent civilians lost their lives, and eight others were wounded in Aungthaya village, located in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region. The attack was carried out by individuals claiming allegiance to PDF, who dropped bombs on the peaceful community, aiming to disrupt the tranquillity of the region.

The assault occurred at approximately 1:30 pm yesterday when PDF terrorists launched drone strikes from an altitude of about 1,200 metres southeast of the village. Among the victims were two males and one female, while the injured included five males and three females. The injured civilians are currently receiving medical treatment at the village’s health centre.

This reckless act of violence against peaceful villagers constitutes a war crime under the Geneva Conventions and international laws. Locals are reportedly expressing strong resentment towards PDF terrorists for their heinous actions and actively participating in Tatmadaw’s efforts to combat these violent acts.
