THOSE who submit an application for consular service by post should make sure to send it with a stamp, the Myanmar Embassy to Japan said.

Prices of postage stamps for domestic use in Japan have risen as of 1 October this year, said the embassy’s statement on 4 October.

Therefore, those who submitted passport service or income tax and official recommendation by post or those who requested to resend those documents by post are urged to submit again with a stamp corresponding to a type of envelope, along with the applicant name, date of birth, passport number and subject of application, it said. For 520-yen envelopes, an 80- yen stamp or stamps equivalent to 80 yen will have to be re-submitted. For 370-yen envelopes, a 60-yen stamp or stamps equivalent to 60 yen will have to be re-submitted, it said.

According to Japan’s new postage stamp price, applicants by post will need to submit 600 yen, and if failing to do so, envelopes will be returned to the sender, it said.
