STARTING on the morning of 1 October, the population and household census began across the country with a total of 42,000 collectors using mobile tablets with Computer-Assisted Personal Interviews (CAPI) technology.
According to the data sent to the server within one day, data collection has been completed for more than 88,000 households, totalling a population of more than 390,000 in all regions and states, including Nay Pyi Taw, according to the Ministry of Immigration and Population.
The census reference point is at midnight on 30 September 2024, and data collection will take 15 days from 1 to 15 October at the national level.
There are 68 questions for the household questionnaire and 18 questions for the organization questionnaire. Efforts will be made to release the preliminary results of the 2024 census by December. If census-collecting teams do not come to any house, people can inform the township census committee offices through relevant ward or village-tract administrators, and it will arrange to send enumerators.
According to the 2014 population and household census, there were 10.88 million households in Myanmar.
