UNION Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi received Mr Liu Yong, Deputy Governor of Yunnan Province, in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

They cordially discussed cooperation in forest, mine and environmental conservation between the two countries.

After the event, the China Arts and Crafts Association handed over relief items worth 700,000 yuan for flood-hit people to the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare Relief and Resettlement. The permanent secretary then gave a certificate of appreciation in return.

Also present at the meeting were Deputy Minister U Min Thu of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, the permanent secretary, departmental officials and relevant officials of the Chinese Embassy to Myanmar.
