FROM 11 to 13 September, a delegation led by the Director-General of the Department of Factories and General Labour Laws Inspection attended the fifth ASEAN Occupational Safety and Health Network (ASEAN-OSHNET) Awards in Singapore.
On 11 September, the Myanmar delegation participated in the fifth ASEAN-OSHNET Awards, the 11th ASEAN Occupational Safety and Health Network Conference, and the Singapore WSH Conference 2024, all held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. The events included representatives from ASEAN countries and award-winning companies.
On 12 September, ASEAN country representatives, the Office of the Secretary-General of ASEAN, the office of the Secretary-General of ASEAN-OSHNET, and partner organisations attended the Policy Dialogue on Harnessing the Potential of Global Supply Chains to Improve OSH in ASEAN at Furama City Centre. This was followed by the 25th ASEAN Occupational Safety and Health Network coordinating meeting on 13 September.
At the fifth ASEAN-OSHNET Awards Ceremony, the ASEAN-OSHNET Excellence Award and the ASEAN-OSHNET Best Practices Award were presented. Dagon Beverages Company Limited received the ASEAN-OSHNET Excellence Award, while Myanmar CP Livestock Co Ltd was honoured with the ASEAN-OSHNET Best Practices Award, representing Myanmar.
The awards, which have been presented every two years since 2016, see Myanmar competing each year. Winners are nominated based on criteria set by the Ministry of Labour, related ministries, and technicians. Since 2016, five factories have received Excellence Awards, and five have received Best Practices Awards.
