BROADCASTING Governing Body (BGB) of the Ministry of Information held its meeting 1/2020 at the meeting hall of Myanmar Radio and TV in Yangon yesterday morning.
At the BGB’s first meeting in 2020, Deputy Minister for Information U Aung Hla Tun in his capacity as its chairman gave a speech, saying that some of the matters need face-to-face discussions and collaboration among the stakeholders as media is no more an exclusive industry in the democracy era. The facilitation of the industry depends on collective efforts towards a platform where inclusive survival is possible.
It is common knowledge that many cases are beyond the reach of the Information Ministry. As regards the requirements, the Deputy Minister invited open discussions.
Vice Chair of the body Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung explained functions of the MOI, financial matters, amendment of contracts, challenges faced in the digitalization of TV programs, and transformation from SD to HD of MRTV channels.
Officials of MRTV presented matters relating to broadcasting and progress in realizing the meeting minutes of meeting 5/2019.
