The 2026 Matriculation Examination, alongside the 2026 Industrial, Agricultural, and Livestock Matriculation Examination, commenced yesterday morning across the country, including at several overseas examination centres.
For the 2026 Matriculation Examination, a total of 887 examination centres were opened, consisting of 16 overseas centres and 871 domestic centres. Out of a total of 268,753 registered candidates, 255,228 sat the Myanmar language paper on the first day, while 13,525 were absent. This represents an attendance rate of 94.97 per cent.
For the 2026 Industrial, Agricultural, and Livestock Matriculation Examination, a total of 53 domestic examination centres were established. According to the Ministry of Education, 3,386 candidates were registered for the exam; of these, 3,364 attended the first day for the Myanmar language subject, with 22 absences, resulting in an attendance rate of 99.35 per cent.
