Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win, accompanied by Yangon Region Public Health and Medical Services Department Head Dr Nanda Win and other relevant officials, inspected the UHC (urban health centres) in the region yesterday.

The Union minister and party met with the staff of the at the UHC in Hline and Mingaladon townships and inspected the centres and staff housing.

During the inspection tour, the Union minister highlighted the need to effectively use the medicines provided by the government for public healthcare services and vaccination, conduct public awareness programmes and accelerate medical services, to further strengthen public health services such as maternal care, infectious disease treatment, care for patients with non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, elder care, dental and oral health services, maternal and child healthcare, immunizations, and healthcare for children under five years of age on designated dates, and to ensure having no gap between the urban and rural health services as the urban health centres (UHC) are being established in cities and expanded the healthcare services to ensure all-inclusive healthcare system.
