Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn inspected the three-storey RC Sarso Beikman construction site in Mingala Taungnyunt Township of Yangon yesterday.

The Director-General of the Printing and Publishing Department and the Myanmar Land & Development Ltd Project Director reported on the 52 per cent completion of the Sarso Beikman building construction.

After hearing the report, the Union minister instructed the needs to complete the building in time, ensure the strength of the building, supervisory activities of the quality assessment team, collaborate with the experts in literary, music and theatrical arenas, keep the materials to display in the museum and to be a modern and grand building as it is built with the supports of the Indian government.

He also made directives to plant beautiful flowery plants and tress, use quality construction materials and a systematic construction system, as it is a sign of India-Myanmar Friendship.

The Union minister also inspected the MyanSat DTH broadcasting service of the BBTV company at a separate building in the MRTV compound in the evening.

The Vice Chairman of BBTV Company reported on the broadcasting of 16 local channels and 140 foreign channels, totalling 156 pay channels since the launch of the MyanSat DTH on 15 January 2025 and distributors in three main cities -Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay.

The Union minister said it is necessary to follow the existing laws, rules and update directives in broadcasting services, provide Myanmar subtitles for international movies and make efforts to be a reliable media for the country and its people.

The Union minister observed the MyanSat DTH broadcasting processes.
