The Bago Region government has invited an open auction for the restoration of moats and walls at two ancient cities in the region.

Interested business owners who are Myanmar citizens are invited to the two restoration projects, which will be implemented by the regional government’s capital fund for the financial year 2025-2026.

One is the restoration of the moat and wall around the Inwa Gate in Hanthawady ancient city in Bago, and the next is the restoration of the northern moat and wall in Ketumati ancient city in Toungoo. Tender applications are now available at the regional Department of Archaeology and National Museum starting 16 June and will be closed by 3 pm on 19 June.

The deadline for the submission of the application is 3 pm on 30 June. The schedule for tender opening will be notified to the respective applicants.

“We welcome this project because I think it will help attract more visitors,” said a travel business owner in Bago.
