Certificates were conferred to the trainees who completed renewable energy courses conducted under the MoU between the Ministry of Electricity and Energy and the Embassy of Denmark in Yangon with the support of the World Wide Fund-Myanmar.
Union Minister U Win Khaing made a speech at the ceremony held at his office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
He said the MoU was signed on 9 February 2018 for more efficient use of renewable energy in Myanmar.
The government has targeted the 100 per cent of power supply in the country by 2030 as the national electricity distribution has passed 50 per cent in December last year, increasing from 34 per cent in 2016.
He added that more renewable energy resources will be used in power generation to avoid environmental degradation.
The utility scale of electricity generated from the 40-MW solar energy plant in Minbu Township was distributed to the national grid.
Danish Ambassador to Myanmar Mr John Nielsel explained the programme which was attended by two trainees for advanced course on renewable energy, 12 for project survey and implementation course and 18 for wind power systems, electricity networks and financial assessment for wind power projects.
