At the invitation of President of the People’s Republic of China Mr Xi Jinping, a high-level Myanmar delegation led by Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, left the Nay Pyi Taw Tatmadaw Airport yesterday morning to pay a working visit to the People’s Republic of China. They were seen off at the airport by Vice-Chairman of the Commission Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Commission member and Prime Minister U Nyo Saw, Commission member and Executive Chief U Aung Lin Dwe, Commission members, Union ministers, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, and officials from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar and the Office of the Military Attaché.
The Senior General was accompanied by Commission Secretary and Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, Commission member and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, Commission member and Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Kyaw Swa Lin, Union Ministers Dr Wah Wah Maung, U Min Naung and U Chit Swe, Chief Minister of Ayeyawady Region U Tin Maung Win, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, deputy ministers, and military and civilian officials.
The high-level Myanmar delegation led by the Senior General arrived at Binhai International Airport of Tianjin at 1:10 pm Chinese standard time. They were welcomed by Mr Guan Zhiou, Minister of Natural Resources of the government of the People’s Republic of China, Myanmar Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, U Tin Maung Swe, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, Ms Ma Jia, and Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Zaw Zaw Naing.
At the airport, Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, was accorded a ceremonial welcome by the Guard of Honour of the People’s Republic of China and a cultural dance troupe, in line with the tradition of receiving visiting heads of state on official goodwill visits.
