Towards better development of the Union
THE recent trips of the Head of State brought positive outcomes for the Union by signing agreements with the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the World Atomic Forum Week 2025, the Head of State discussed the topic of peaceful use of nuclear energy for the public interest.
Nuclear energy is a safe source of energy. It is also a form of energy that can provide stable electricity. Myanmar aims to use nuclear energy in order to generate stable electricity for the development of medical and agricultural research activities. As such, Myanmar signed an agreement with the ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation of the Russian Federation.
In this regard, the Head of State held a talk with President Mr Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation. They unveiled that Russia regards Myanmar as its most trusted partner country in Southeast Asia. In turn, the Head of State said that Myanmar recognized Russia as a strategic partner and is committed to further strengthening relations. This includes cooperation in technology exchanges, space technology, nuclear energy technology, and other areas of technology that will bring direct benefits to the people of Myanmar.
During the trip to the Russian Federation, discussions were held on implementing conditions for the development of national-level nuclear infrastructure, advancing nuclear technology in Myanmar, cooperating in training and human resource capacity-building, improving expertise and skills, and promoting the peaceful use of nuclear energy. Both sides also discussed continuing to implement agreements between Myanmar and ROSATOM on cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
During the trip, cooperation agreements were signed between the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Electric Power of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the State Atomic Energy Corporation of the Russian Federation (ROSATOM). The signing was carried out by ROSATOM of the Russian Federation in the presence of the Acting President of the State and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
As such, the requirements of electricity in Myanmar can be resolved in a few years to initiate an improved socioeconomic life for the people. Thanks to different energy sources, especially nuclear energy, electricity can be generated to supply it to the people so as to operate industries, production activities, agriculture, livestock, medical treatment, education, as well as different sectors. As a basic need of society, electricity generated from nuclear energy will build a paradise in Myanmar society in the near future.
