THE delegation of the Union Election Commission led by its Chairman U Hla Thein left for the Republic of India yesterday as study tour till 12 February on observing Delhi Legislative Assembly elections to be held on 8 February.
The UEC delegation was seen off at Yangon International Airport by officials from Indian Embassy in Yangon, UEC Office and Yangon Region Sub-Election Commission. UEC Chairman is accompanied by officials from the commission.

CONTRACTS were signed with a private firm to construct the bridges of Gyaing (Zathabyin) and Gyaing (Ahtayan) which are included in the package-2 under the project to upgrade three bridges on East-West Economic Corridor implemented by the Bridge Department under the Ministry of Construction with the ODA loan of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

THE Central Committee on Monitoring and Prevention of 2019 Novel Coronavirus held their daily coordination meeting (10/2020) at the Ministry of Health and Sports yesterday.
Union Minister Dr Myint Htwe first addressed the meeting with a message to the public that the speed at which the virus is spreading in China is rising with each passing day, and has jumped from a rate of 2,000 new cases per day on 31 January 2020 to 4,000 per day as of 5 February 2020.
