THE Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar has agreed to the appointment of Mr. Lindamulage Nalin Kumar de Silva as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

Mr. Lindamulage Nalin Kumar de Silva was born in October 1944. He holds Bachelor of Science First Class Honours in Mathematics from the University of Ceylon, Sri Lanka and Doctor of Philosophy in Astrophysics from the University of Sussex, the United Kingdom. He has served as Professor in Mathematics at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka from 2005 to 2015. He is also the member of the International Astronomical Union. He is married.
