STATE Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing yes­terday morning offered alms to Theravada Buddhist Missionary (Central) Monastery and Thera­vada Buddhist Missionary Nun­nery in Lahe.

The Senior General and par­ty paid homage to members of the Sangha led by the Abbot of the monastery Saddhamma Jo­tikadhaja Bhaddanta Sumana at Theravada Buddhist Missionary (Central) Monastery and asked about the propagation of the Sasana and education learning of children. The Senior General donated cash for nine prerequi­sites, rice, cooking oil and food­stuffs as well as K5 million for teachers of the monastic school of the monastery.

After viewing round the precinct of the monastery, the Senior General gave instructions on the maintenance of the mon­astery and beautifying tasks and attended to the needs.

At Theravada Buddhist Missionary Nunnery, the Senior General paid homage to nuns led by nun Daw Paññasingi. After asking about religious affairs and learning measures, the Senior General donated cash, rice, cook­ing oil, foodstuff and nun robes.

The Senior General viewed round the precinct of the nun­nery and the refectory and made donations, and instructed offi­cials to carry out maintenance of the nunnery for its long-term existence.
