ILLICIT drugs were confiscated in the Bokpyin, Bahan, Kunlong and Loilem Townships, stated the Myanmar Police Force.

On 3 August, a combined team including members of the Taninthayi Region Police Force raided a house of the suspect­ed Ma Htay Myint, located at the Yaengangyi Village of Yaen­gangyi Village-tract in Bokpyin Township and, Maung Zaw (aka) Than Zaw and Than Myo Oo were seen on the site together with the suspect. Four thousand and three hundred stimulant tablets were impounded from the house at 10:50 am and the suspects were prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psycho­tropic Substances Law.

A coordinated team con­sisting of the Anti-Drug Police Force members found Kaung Htet Zaw (aka) Pyaung Gyi sus­picious at the Yedashe Ward in Bahan Township at 12:30 pm on 4 August and 2,000 stimulant pills were confiscated from him during the inspection. The team also arrested the suspect Hla Soe along with 6,800 stimulant tablets from his house which was located at the Shwenanttha Ward, Bahan Township, and the drug dealer Ma Ni Ni Ohn from her place at the Yedashe Ward, Bahan Township, according to the further investigation.

On the same day, a house of the suspected Ma Eee Swe, located at the Tarpangchauk Village of Tonkyet Village-tract in Kunlong Township, was ex­amined by the combined An­ti-Drug Police Force at 9:15 pm and 2,000 stimulant tablets were found from the site. Similarly, a Nissan AD Van vehicle driven by Win Naing (aka) Huu Sein accompanied by Htin Paw (aka) Sai Ohaw Lar, was stopped and searched by the combined team of the Anti-Drug Police Force on the Loilem-Taunggyi Road near the Hotint Village of Pangwoe Village-tract in Loilem Town­ship. The team seized 30,000 stimulant tablets from them at 3:30 pm.

The Myanmar Police Force stated that the suspects are be­ing prosecuted under the Nar­cotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
