THE combination team consisting of members of the Anti- Drug Police Force stopped and searched a Toyota HiAce vehicle driven by Tin Aung Hla accompanied by Hla Ngwe in Pansone village-tract of Hsenwi Township in northern Shan  State at 9:30 am on 11 July.

They seized 2.5 tonnes of Sodium Acetate, which is an illegally restricted chemical.

The team further seized a Toyota Wish vehicle driven by the illegally restricted chemical carrier Arr Phyin and Arr San in the traffic light of ward 12 of Lashio Township at 12:00 noon.

According to sequence reports, the combined team searched a brick factory’s garage and found Han Min Aung (aka) Htet Gyi and Ma Khine Restricted chemicals, related accessories confiscated in Shan State (North) Su Nwe (aka) Khine Su with 1.25 tonnes of sodium acetate, a restricted chemical and other chemicals such as 2.4 tonnes of potassium sulphate, 6.75 tonnes of sodium carbonate, 380 kilogrammes of sodium chloride, chemical odours and 18 chemical masks and 105 air filters in Kaunghmuton ward of Muse township at 2 pm.

At 5 pm, the team also searched the garage at Swansaw 4th street, Swansaw quarter in Muse and seized 1.55 tonnes of the restricted chemical sodium acetate from the garage’s guard Thura Kyaw.

A total of 5.3 tonnes of the restricted chemical sodium acetate and other chemicals such as 2.4 tonnes of potassium sulphate, 6.75 tonnes of sodium carbonate, 380 kilos of sodium chloride, chemical odours, 18 chemical masks and 105 air filters were impounded. They are prosecuted under the law while investigating, the Myanmar Police Force stated.
