THE closing ceremony of Fresher Course 2/2022 for Assistant Senior Auditors was held at 12:30 pm on 8 July at the Assembly Hall of the Office of the Auditor-General of the Union, Nay Pyi Taw.
At the ceremony, Prof Dr Kan Zaw, the Union Auditor-General, delivered an address that the training was designed to teach the auditors theoretically and practically to conduct audits proficiently; the auditors should try to meet professional competence and maintain a good relationship between auditors and auditees; to understand well leadership and followership; and, accordingly, the achievement of audit objectives is essential because teamwork is crucial to auditing; it is important for auditors to comprehend and be compliant with the auditing and accounting standards, civil service personnel law, civil service personnel rules, financial rules, and auditors’ ethics, as being the auditors who audit the public funds according to the motto of “ Steering to improve Public Financial Management”.
Therefore, he emphasized that the accomplished trainees should endeavour to be good civil servants who can perform their duties faithfully for the interests of the office and nation and continue learning for expertise in the professional field.
During the one-month face-to-face training, two from the head office and one from the Union Territory, and 37 from the regions and states, totalling 40 trainees, attended.
The permanent secretary, the director-general (Audit Department), the deputy permanent secretary, the deputy directors-general, responsible persons, trainers and accomplished trainees attended the ceremony.
