DEPUTY Minister U Myint Soe of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development conducted a field study on the development operations of Rakhine State on Friday. First, the Deputy Minister and party met with the officials of the Rural Develop ment Department in Sittway Township and instructed the necessary things regarding the Rakhine state development programmes.
Then, they went to the Shwekya weaving operation in Kyamathauk Village in Sittway. They met the owner and viewed round the operation site.
They then inspected the bean cultivation area of U Aung Than Tin who is running with Mya Sein Yaung Fund in Kyamathauk Village.
The deputy minister and party also checked the concrete road paving works carried out by villagers in Ywathitkay Village using the Village Development Project fund (VDP) of the Rural Development Department.
They also visited the Minthalay general economic cooperatives in Sanpya (North) Ward of Sittway Township and held discussions with the officials of the association.
On arrival at the weaving training school of the SmallScale Industries Department in Sittway Township, the Headmaster, teachers and staff reported on the procedures of the training school to the deputy Minister. He then viewed the practical session of trainees and provided cash assistance to them. The deputy minister then went to Rakhine State Cooperative Confederation and instructed the cooperatives to produce and distribute natural fertilizers, find ways to collect the granted loans and provide tractors, agricultural materials and agrochemicals to the association’s farmers.
