PRESIDENT of the Republic of Tatarstan Mr Rustam Nurgaliyevich Minnikhanov, who made a working visit in Myanmar, visited Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

First, U Kyi Win, member of the pagoda board of trustees explained the history of pagoda to the delegation.

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan and party paid homage to the jade Buddha images in the pagoda’s hollow cave and made donations to the Buddha images and cash contributions after signing the visitor’s record book.

They took the commemorative photo on the pagoda platform and visited the white elephant garden.

Then, they went to the construction site of Maravijaya Buddha Image in Dekkhinathiri Township and were welcome by Maj-Gen Ko Ko Lwin, BrigGen Zaw Naing Oo and other officials.

At the briefing hall, Maj-Gen Ko Ko Lwin explained the curving and building the Maravijaya Buddha Image using modern CNC machines, step-by-step exploration and conveyance of marble rocks and efforts of the Senior General to seek the guidance of State Ovadacariya Sayadaws.

Afterwards, Brig-Gen Zaw Naing Oo widely clarified the work processes to publish the Tri Pitaka treatises in the Romanized Language with the use of modern machines and other construction processes of religious buildings with the architectural works of the Yadanabon era.

Maj-Gen Ko Ko Lwin and the President of the Republic of Tatarstan exchanged their gifts.

Then, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan and party inspected the curving processes of Buddha Image with the use of CNC machines.

At noon, they visited the Myanmar Gems Museum (Nay Pyi Taw), and officials reported on the displayed jade, gemstone, pearl, gold, silverware and natural resources in the museum.
