1. State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered a speech on peace on 22 April 2022.

2. In his speech, he said that ethnic people have not thoroughly enjoyed the essence of 75-year independence yet. The root cause depends on ethnic armed conflicts. Therefore, 2022 is set as the year of peace, and ethnic armed organizations-EAOs are invited to hold the talks to end armed conflicts across the nation.

3. This speech is welcomed and supported as it is a precursor to enjoying the taste of peace and development that all ethnic people aspire to.
