Law Amending the Legal Translation Commission Law State Administration Council Law No 39/2022

THE State Administration Council hereby enacted this law under Section 419 of the Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

1. This law shall be called the Law Amending the Legal Translation Commission Law.

2. Sub-sections (f) and (g) shall be added below Sub-section (e) of Section 2 of the Legal Translation Commission Law as follows: —

“(f) The Ministry means the Union Ministry of Legal Affairs of the Union Government.

(g) The Union Minister means the Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Attorney-General of the Union.”

3. The word “Office of the Attorney-General of the Union” mentioned in Sections 4, 9, 15, 16 and 20 of the Legal Translation Commission Law shall be substituted with the word “the Ministry”, and the word “the Attorney-General of the Union” mentioned at Sections 4 and 5 of the law with the word “the Union Minister”, respectively.

4. Section 12 of the Legal Translation Commission Law shall be substituted as follows: —

“12. (a) The Commission shall issue the order that the approved law translated into Myanmar shall be deemed to be effectively similar to the original copy.

(b) If any expression point of translated copy mentioned accord with the Sub-section (a) is different from the original copy, the original copy related to that expression point shall be confirmable.”

I hereby signed this law under Section 419 of the Constitution.
