MANAGED by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee, action is being taken against illegal trades under the law.
The inspection teams led by Forest Department officials under the management of the Bago Region Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force carried out inspections and seized 5.5154 tonnes of illegal timbers (estimated at K987,620). Action is taken under the Forest Law.
Similarly, a combined inspection team led by the Police Force under the management of the Sagaing Region Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force carried out inspections. It seized an unregistered Yamaha Mono Cross motorbike (estimated value of K1,500,000) and a Kenbo 125 without a licence (estimated at K100,000), totalling K1,600,000, and action is taken under the Export and Import law.
Thus, four arrests were made on 4 April (estimated at K2,587,620), according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.
