UNION Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win received the delegation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) led by Project Manager Mr Ilia Nesterov of the Russian-Myanmar Friendship Association on 25 March.

First, the Union Minister presented the use of one million Russian made Sputnik Light, treatment activities, public healthcare services, development programmes in health-related human resources and medical sectors and called on further cooperation with Russia.

Then, the delegates exchanged views on Myanmar-Russia health cooperation, international standard COVID-19 vaccine production sector of Russia, vaccine registration processes in Myanmar, medical research, manufacturing of medicines, hospital materials and diagnosis machines, medicinal technology and training, cooperation in the field of radiation therapy in cancer treatment, proper communication between the universities of medicine and universities of medical technology and the use of the solar system in hospitals and health department in remote areas. The event was attended by the deputy minister of the Health Ministry, the directors-general and representatives of the EEC.
