THE Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar has agreed to the proposed appointment of Mr Ovikuroma O. Djebah as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar with residence in Bangkok.

Mr Ovikuroma O. Djebah obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts (BA) from the University of Calabar, Cross River in Nigeria. He also earned Master’s degrees in International Law and Diplomacy (MILD) from the University of Lagos in Nigeria and Global Journalism (MA) from Orebro University in Sweden respectively. From 1990 to 2000, he worked at the AKWA IBOM State Newspapers Corporation, and also worked as News Reporter at the CLASSIQUE Magazine, Senior Correspondent (Writer) at The NEWS and TEMPO Magazine and Reporter for Business, Political and Developments at the Guardian Newspaper. He served as the Group Political Editor and Deputy Editor and Member of the Board of Editors at the THISDAY Newspaper in Lagos, Nigeria from December 2000 to August 2007. He was appointed as Honourable Commissioner for Information in August 2007. He served as Senior Adviser to the Governor on Foreign Relations of Delta State Government of Nigeria from 2011 to 2015 and he became Founder and Chairman at The New Diplomat Newspaper in Nigeria in June 2015. Since June 2021, he has been serving as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Kingdom of Thailand.

Mr Ovikuroma O. Djebah is married with two children.
