UNION Minister for Education Dr Nyunt Pe accompanied by Deputy Ministers Dr Zaw Myint, U Zaw Win, and officials visited administrative refresher courses including management, finance and education sectors for principals of the basic education high schools opened at No. (12) Basic Education High School, Otthara Thiri Township, and No. (13) Basic Education High School, Pubbha Thiri Township.

While visiting the refresher courses, the Union Minister met education officers and principals. He said that he would like to express heartfelt thanks to the principals for attending the refresher courses despite the hot summer.

The Union Minister urged the principals to exchange experiences with each other, work together to improve the country’s quality of education, clean the school environment for reopening the basic education schools, and start preparations for the school’s good character.

“In order to present the requirements for the reopening of the schools, it is necessary to have the courage to ask for what is really needed at the grassroots level, and the relevant authorities will meet the requirements as soon as possible as per the procedures,” the Union Minister said.

“Teachers are the guides of good sons and daughters of the future. When schools reopen, students should be taught to read and write and be clever. Teachers involved in some CDM activities are urged to return to their duties and attend the refresher courses following the civil service rules and regulations. Teachers who have returned from the CDM movement for various reasons should be warmly welcomed”, the Union Minister added.

The Union Minister also urged the education officers to have necessary utensils for the classrooms and school buildings.

After that, the Union Minister and responsible persons inspected the school’s preparations and gave necessary comments.
