THE Ministry of Ethnic Affairs held a coordination meeting on the successful holding of the 3rd Ethnics Culture Festival 2021 to promote ethnics culture and tourism industry in Nay Pyi Taw according to the COVID-19 health guidelines yesterday.
The Ethnics Culture Festival 2021 will be held virtually via MRTV, NRC, Web portal, Web programme and Facebook in accordance with the health guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Sports due to the COVID-19 crisis this year.
Pre-celebration of the festival will be broadcast on 12 February. The festival will be opened on 26 February and concluded on 12 March. The exhibitions at the festival will be arranged being divided into 14 main sections -- Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Bamar, Mon, Rakhine and Shan states and 6 self-administered zones/regions.
Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Nai Thet Lwin urged the Ethnic Affairs ministers in respective states and regions to collaborate with Myanmar Ethnic Entrepreneurs Association on necessary support for the exhibitions according to their ethnic groups and video clips of the regional contents.
He added the necessity to send video clips in a timely manner and pay special attention to the COVID-19 guidelines when conducting live broadcasts.
He called for participation in the discussion to support the peace and social development activities of ethnic nationalities, to help increase local products and to promote the tourism industry.
He said the lasting peace of the Union and development of ethnic nationalities are mutually beneficial and he called on all ethnic nationalities to work together in unity and in the spirit of Union.
Afterwards, the Union Minister handed over the cash assistance of K50 million for the successful celebration of the third Ethnics Festival to the secretarygeneral of the Festival Organizing Committee.
Deputy Minister U Hla Maw Oo, Social Affairs Minister for Chin State government, Ethnic Affairs ministers for the respective regions and states, officials from the self-administered zones/regions, the Permanent Secretary, Directors-General, Deputy Directors-General and responsible persons from the Myanmar Ethnic Entrepreneurs Association participated in the discussion.
The meeting was concluded after the remarks of the Union Minister.
