VIET NAM virtually hosted the 38th ASEAN Special Senior Officials Meeting on Energy and 23rd ASEAN Centre for Energy Governing Council Meeting on 21 and 22 January.

Permanent Secretary for Electricity and Energy U Than Zaw, in his capacity as Senior Official on Energy (SOE) Leader joined the virtual meeting held yesterday together with other officials.

The 38th ASEAN Special Senior Officials Meeting on Energy discussed the ASEAN Plan of Action on Energy Cooperation –APAEC Phase II (2021-2025), work plans to carry out in 2021 and cooperation work in the energy sector between 2021 and 2025.

The officials also discussed Clean Coal Technology, Civilian Nuclear Energy, Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Conservation, Regional Energy Policy and Planning, Trans-Energy Gas Pipeline and ASEAN Power Grid.

The 23rd ASEAN Centre for Energy Governing Council Meeting will be held on 22 January, and the meeting will focus on the facts including ASEAN energy cooperation, budget allocations and ASEAN Endowment Fund.

The 39th Special Senior officials Meeting on Energy and Associated Meetings will be held in Brunei in 2021.
