Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr Myint Htwe presided over the meeting via videoconferencing yesterday to discuss the resumption of medical courses at the universities under the ministry.
The meeting discussed plans to reopen final year part 2 regular classes at the Universities of Medicine, final year regular classes at the University of Dental Medicine and post-graduate medical courses.
The ministry is working to resume the remaining classes of final part 2 at the Universities of Medicine and final year courses at the University of Nursing with the approval of the national committee on COVID-19 control soon.
The meeting was participated by rectors, pro-rectors, professors/deans, professors and officials from the Department of Human Resources for Health and t he15 universities under the ministry. The courses are scheduled to reopen in February in line with the COVID-19 preventive guidelines. The virtual system will also be used in teaching.
Deputy Minister Dr Mya Lay Sein, Permanent Secretary Professor Dr Thet Khaing Win, Director-General Dr Tin Tin Lay, together with the participants at the meeting, discussed course resumption plans.
