The National Skills Standards Authority explained the second phase processes of its web portal at the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population through a videoconferencing yesterday.
The event was attended by Union Minister U Thein Swe, Deputy Minister U Myint Kyaing, the members of Accreditation and Assessment Committee, the Occupational Training Committee, the Occupational Skills Standards Sectorial Committee, chairpersons, committee members, partnered organizations, the chief assessors and experts from the Information Matrix Co., Ltd.
The Union Minister talked about the objectives of NSSA in drafting the web portal to provide information services to the stakeholders in the labour market. The web portal has been developing with the assistance of GIZ since 2019, and its first phase was launched in June 2020 to be able to share the occupational skills standards during the home-stay period in respective areas.
The MoLIP and the NSSA are putting emphasis on creating regular employment for the labourers with poor educational background, the opportunity for lifelong learning and learning cycle, and changing trend of employment.
The ministry is working for the accomplishment of multi-sector skill training schools with the help of GIZ in Sittway Township of Rakhine State and Lashio Township of Shan State in 2021.
The ministry and Swisscontact are conducting the rural livelihood training courses for the labours in Mon, Kayin and Taninthayi, and the information about these courses will be included in the second phase of NSSA Web portal.
The NSSA web portal is developed for information management, searching for the document, scrutinizing certificates, management of online applications, information services, data feeding about skill training and vocational training schools, maps, news and video clips.
The NSSA web portal phase 2 includes online application of NSSA’s certificate, linking with test item database, downloading reports, implementation and maintenance, application, and using SMS to the officials for the next level certificate.
Daw Naing Yi Mar, Deputy Head of TVET Project from the GIZ, explained the future plans of NSSA Web Portal, followed by the reports of committee members and the experts from web portal developing company Information Matrix Co., Ltd on the implementation of respective processes.
