A prayer ceremony for lasting peace was held at Dawei City Hall in Dawei, Taninthayi Region, at 9 am yesterday, with Chief Minister U Zaw Naing Oo calling on all citizens to participate in building peace as a national responsibility.

The ceremony was organized by the Taninthayi Region government to promote “Unity in Diversity, Peace in Diversity” and foster lasting harmony among ethnic communities with different faiths and beliefs.

During the ceremony, the chief minister lit a peace candle and joined the deputy speaker of the Region Hluttaw, the chief justice of the Region High Court, and religious representatives in offering prayers for peace.
