THE ICEEt 2026 conference, featuring discussions among local and international officials from the engineering, information technology, telecommunications, and business sectors on Myanmar’s digital future, was held yesterday morning at the Chatrium Hotel in Yangon. U Khin Maung Htay, President of the Federation of Myanmar Engineering Societies, delivered the welcome remarks.

Next, a video address delivered by Union Minister for Industry and MSME Development Dr Charlie Than was broadcast, followed by welcoming remarks by Dr Nay Chi Lei Lei Thein, Deputy Minister for Science and Technology.

Afterward, attendees discussed the development of the Asia-Pacific engineering sector, FEIAP’s vision for enhancing regional AI capacity, AI development along the Belt and Road, regional digital connectivity, and opportunities for collaboration with Myanmar. Representatives from the Myanmar Computer Federation, the Federation of Myanmar Engineering Societies, the Entrepreneurs Association, the Myanmar Youth Entrepreneurs Association, and the Myanmar Women Entrepreneurs Network subsequently held detailed discussions on their respective topics.
