THE Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Kalaw District, Shan State (South), conducted a field inspection yesterday to review the completion of a multi-purpose hall constructed with 50 per cent of interest earnings from the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project in Kyaungnauk Village, Peyintaung Village-tract, Kalaw Township.

Kalaw District Department of Rural Development Head U Aung Zaw Lin, Township Department of Rural Development Head U Ko Ko Naing and engineering staff inspected the completed building. They met members of the village Mya Sein Yaung Village Project Management Committee and residents, urging them to collectively maintain the multi-purpose hall for longterm durability. They also examined whether monthly financial records had been completed accurately in accordance with prescribed procedures.

The multi-purpose hall, measuring 40 feet in length, 30 feet in width and 12 feet in height, was constructed using K40 million allocated from the project’s interest earnings alongside K3.5 million in community contributions, totalling K43.5 million. The construction work was carried out directly by the villagers under the technical assistance and close supervision of district and township DRD officials, and has now been completed fully.
