Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Mr Margulan Baimukhan presented his Credentials to President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing at the Presidential Palace Reception Hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

The Kazakhstani ambassador saluted the flags of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Republic of Kazakhstan at the honorary hall of the Presidential Palace Reception Hall. The ambassador returned the salute of the Guard of Honour, and the national anthems of both countries were played.

Afterwards, Kazakhstani Ambassador Mr Margulan Baimukhan presented his Credentials to President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing.

Subsequently, the two sides held cordial discussions on the growing friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between Myanmar and Kazakhstan despite the geographical distance between the two countries, as well as Kazakhstan’s congratulations on Myanmar’s successful holding of a free and fair multiparty democratic general election and the assumption of State responsibilities by the elected government led by President U Min Aung Hlaing.

The discussions also covered Kazakhstan’s upcoming parliamentary elections and its invitation to officials from Myanmar’s Union Election Commission to observe the electoral process. In addition, the two sides discussed promoting cooperation in trade, the economy, agriculture, mining, education, health, digital technology, and transport, as well as strengthening inter-parliamentary ties following the elections in Kazakhstan.

They also explored opportunities for Kazakhstan, located in Central Asia, to expand economic exchanges with South Asian and ASEAN countries through China and Myanmar.

The talks concluded with discussions on Myanmar’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its international relations, including ties with regional countries and ASEAN member states, and with both sides reaffirming their commitment to further enhancing bilateral diplomatic relations, friendship, and cooperation.

Also present at the meeting were Union Minister at the President’s Office U Khin Maung Yi, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Tin Maung Swe, Director-General of the Protocol Department U Thet Tun, and officials.

The Kazakhstani ambassador signed the guests’ book at the Presidential Palace Reception Hall.
