The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism has been planning to reopen its tourism industry with four travel plans in December.
“The first plan is the luxury flight tour which is expected to begin in early December, the second one is the river cruises tour which is intended to start in the second of week of December, and the last two plans are inland tour and marine tour that are expected to begin in the last week of December,” said Deputy Director-General Daw Khin Than Win of the ministry.
“Travel plans are just being arranged, not yet to be sold. The arrangements are being made to be ready for reopening. Transportation is being planned to be ready when the inbound tourism restarts and Ngwehsaung and Chaungtha beaches are opened,” she said.
For the development of tourism industry in post-COVID-19 period, the ministry is taking measures to restart adventure sport tourism, food tourism, cultural tourism, nature tourism, agricultural tourism, river cruise and railway tourism, inland and marine tourism, and Meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) tourism.
