A Myanmar student delegation will participate in the BRIDGE Summer Camp 2026, an international summer gathering of students and youths to be held annually in July in Fukuoka City, Japan, organized by the Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention (APCC), based in Fukuoka.

The programme is coordinated by the Myanmar-Japan Association (MJA), which has selected and trained six Myanmar basic education students since March to serve as Junior Ambassadors for participation in the event.

The selected students are Maung So Pyay from Basic Education High School No 2, Kamayut, Yangon, Maung Aung Phone Myat Ko from Dagon BEHS 1, Yangon, Maung Arnt Phone Maw from Mingaladon BEHS 2, Yangon, Ma Su Su San and Ma Taryar Phone Htet from TTC High School, Kamayut, Yangon, and Maung Lin Let Kyaw Zar Ni from Sangyoung BEHS 2, Yangon.

An awarding ceremony recognizing the selected Junior Ambassadors was held yesterday afternoon at the Thingaha Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw during their training and third preparatory trip. Officials from the Myanmar-Japan Association, representatives from the Ministry of Education, parents, and students attended the ceremony, where certificates of recognition and supporting materials for the trip were presented.

The six Junior Ambassadors from Myanmar will travel to Fukuoka in the second week of July and participate in a 10-day camp alongside around 200 Junior Ambassadors and 42 coordinators from 42 Asia-Pacific countries.

During the programme, they will take part in exchange activities, cultural sharing programmes, one-day visits to designated schools in different countries, and homestay arrangements with Japanese host families for five nights. They will also attend local schools together with their host students.

The Myanmar delegation will also perform a traditional dance to the song “Thingyan Moe” at the BRIDGE Festival 2026 on 18 July.
