THE eleventh meeting of the Working Committee to address the impact of COVID-19 on the country’s economy was held yesterday afternoon.

Chaired by Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations U Thaung Tun, the meeting was attended by members of the working committee Union Ministers, U Soe Win, U Thein Swe and Dr Than Myint, the Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar, U Kyaw Kyaw Maung and representatives of the Ministries concerned.

Following the setting up of COVID-19 relief funds of Kyats 200 billion, the Committee approved Kyats 101.9283 billion to 3,394 enterprises as first disbursement and Kyats 64.6680 billion to 2,939 enterprises as second disbursement. The meeting discussed matters relating to carry out an assessment on the effective impact of the loan disbursed, government’s support to improve country’s economy in line with “Enchanting Myanmar Health and Safety Protocol” and issues presented by the ministries and other organizations to Working Committee.
