The Information and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Information held a paper reading session virtually.

To mark the 100th Anniversary of National Day, the ceremony was joined by Union Minister Dr Pe Myint, Deputy Minister U Aung Hla Tun, Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung, heads of departments and officials from district IPRD offices across the country.

In his remark, Union Minister Dr Pe Myint said that as the MoI is concerned with media works and other publications, it should have objectives to produce the books for capacity building of staff members of the departments.

In addition to book readings and discussions of the various authors Researcher U Aye Maung Kyaw and U Ye Myint Kyaw of Centre for Myanmar Affairs Studies presided over the paper reading session.

Then, the resource persons read out the papers about the socio-economy status of Myanmar in 1920, Myanmar’s political affairs in 1920, YMBA and GCBA, footwear issue, boycott against Rangoon University Act, beginning of National Schools, administration, social affairs, economy, livestock, trade, industry, forest, mine, energy, Myanma Arts, Myanma Film and the first students’ boycott in 1920 and so on.

Deputy Minister U Aung Hla Tun coordinated the discussions before seven IPRD officers presented their papers on Myanmar’s affairs between 1920 and 2020. The paper reading session will continue on 7 and 11 December.
