Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Ko Ko Lwin returned to Mandalay International Airport yesterday afternoon after paying working visits to the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China from 12 to 19 April, at the invitation of the Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Mr Anton Kobyakov, and the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Mr S E Tsivilev.

During the visit, the Union Minister held meetings with State leaders and regional authorities, as well as representatives from organizations related to the electric power and energy sector. They cordially exchanged views on promoting trilateral cooperation among Myanmar, Russia and China in enhancing energy security and sufficiency.

The discussions also focused on cooperation measures in the energy sector and resulted in the signing of agreements aimed at ensuring the long-term supply of petroleum and petroleum products for Myanmar.
