Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, selected as Vice-President by the group of elected Pyithu Hluttaw representatives, was elected as President by the Presidential Electoral College comprising all Pyidaungsu Hluttaw representatives at the presidential election on 3 April 2026. Hence, the New Generation Wunthanu Party, the Myanmar Hokkien Clan Association, the Myanmar-born Chinese Charity Association, the Myanmar-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the Myanmar Wenzhou General Chamber of Commerce, the Myanmar-Anhui Chamber of Commerce, the Yangon Yunnanese Association, the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Myanmar-India Friendship Association, the Myanmar-India International Business Federation (MIIBF), the Association of Myanmar-Japan Socio-Economic Development Cooperation (AMJSEDC), the Myanmar Medical Council, the Myanmar Maternal and Child Welfare Association, the Myanmar Traditional Medical Council, the Myanmar Dental Medical Council, the Myanmar Private Hospitals Association, the Myanmar Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Manufacturer Association, the Myanmar Traditional Medicine Manufacturers and Medical Equipment Entrepreneurs Association, the Myanmar Nurse and Midwife Council, the Myanmar Red Cross Society, the Myanmar Chamber of Commerce for Pharmaceutical & Medical Device, the Myanmar Academy of Medical Sciences, the Myanmar Press Council, the Myanmar Interfaith Dialogue Group (Central), the Myanmar Motion Pictures Organization, the Islamic Religious Affairs Council Myanmar and the Myanmar Gems and Jewellery Entrepreneurs Association, the Myanmar Steel Association and the Myanmar Washu Federation issued the special congratulatory messages over the election of Senior General Min Aung Hlaing as President.

The statements expressed special pride and pleasure that Senior General Min Aung Hlaing was elected as the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar by the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw. These associations and organizations conveyed full confidence that, as the President and with the new government, he will successfully lead the country’s peaceful transition to a multiparty democratic system, implementing the policy of “Mother Figure People, Father Figure People”, and fulfill the genuine wishes of the public in achieving durable peace, rule of law, and socioeconomic development, and endeavours to keep abreast of international community. It was affirmed that the President would govern in accordance with the six cardinal principles of leadership. Wishes were also expressed that President Senior General Min Aung Hlaing may enjoy peace of mind, good health, and personal well-being, and carry out his responsibilities for the nation in a healthy and prosperous manner. Furthermore, it was hoped that the Republic of the Union of Myanmar would enjoy peace, prosperity, and further development.
