A Myanmar delegation led by Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, Union Minister for Science and Technology, attended the Fourth Forum on Future Technologies, held on 25 and 26 February at the World Trade Centre in Moscow, the Russian Federation.

At the forum, exhibitions and panel discussions were organized on research into the production of bio-economy products, the development of new products from waste materials through the application of biotechnology, the nature of bio-ecosystems, the creation of biotechnology-based computational systems, the application of biotechnology in the agriculture and health sectors, the establishment of necessary legal and regulatory frameworks for biotechnology development, and the implementation of green energy systems.

The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, attended as a special guest and, in his address, he emphasized the importance of biotechnology, information technology and artificial intelligence in the field of future technologies.

The Union Minister for Science and Technology was accompanied by Dr Tin Htut, Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, U Thwin Aung, Deputy Minister for Industry, U Min Min, Deputy Minister for Commerce, and Dr Aye Tun, Deputy Minister for Health. The delegation took part in relevant panel discussions, toured the exhibitions, and held discussions with experts and researchers in the respective technological sectors.
