The hand over ceremony of 1,620 tonnes of rice donated by the Republic of Korea under the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve-APTERR Programme-3 (2025) to suport the earthquake-affected people from Mandalay Region through the Department of Agriculture took place at the regional Agriculture Department in Chanmyathazi Township yesterday morning.

Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung spoke on the occasion while the general manager of APTERR Secretariat and the official from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Myanmar explained the purpose of donations.

The Deputy Director-General of the Department of Agriculture handed over 1,620 tonnes of rice donated by Korea under the APTERR programme to the regional chief minister. The general manager of APTERR Secretariat and the official of Korean Embassy to Myanmar presented rice to earthquake-affected people.

The chief minister of the region presented certificates of appreciation to the general manager of APTERR Secretariat and an official from the Korean Embasy. An earthquake-affected civilian spoke words of thanks. It was reported that 1,620 tonnes of donated rice will be distributed to districts and townships in Mandalay Region systematically.
